Google is getting ready to let us use the iPhone to access Google without depending on the traditional Google Search. To enjoy Gemini on the iPhone until today, we had to open the Google app, go to the “Gemini” menu, and then access the artificial intelligence capabilities.
This might change shortly since the App Store has revealed a new stand-alone app solely titled “Google Gemini.”
An app meant for instant access
Google aims to provide a shortcut from the home screen, maybe via shortcuts, widgets, or other similar alternatives, straight to the company’s AI with this stand-alone app. Not only that, it looks like Gemini Live, which is a function not yet included on the main Google app.
Gemini would remain active as a live activity with this capability, allowing us to more fluidly and holistically enjoy the voice experience while we keep using our iPhone.
As of right now, according to 9to5Google, only one report of this app’s availability exists from the Philippines. The notice showing up while attempting to download it from another nation is “is not available in your country or region,” for now.
Although Gemini on the iPhone via the Google app has the same functionality as gemini.google.com, the fresh design and independence of this app might greatly alter things.
A move that occurs at a time when ChatGPT is included in iOS thanks to Apple Intelligence and when the comfort of interacting with our preferred AIs is something we cherish more than ever.
Although we will have to wait for now, everything seems to point to Google Gemini on our iPhone as a standalone app becoming present sooner rather than later.
